El sueño de la muerte PORTADA.png

El sueño de la muerte

Editorial Gnomo

Poisoned Soup for the Macabre, Depraved, and Insane

"She’s wrapped in rags. Her bare feet, hands, and face are caked
with mud and dirt. Her eyes are black wells surrounded by the
tangled clouds of her white hair."

The Ghost of Language

Uncharted Magazine

"She feeds the abdicators every morning at eight o’clock. Canned tuna or beans. She opens the cans into a few of her Wedgwood bowls and places them outside the glass doors of the Dakota. She wishes she had better use for her fine China."

El mar de nuestros males

Enclave

LatineLit

"Angélica, Angélica María Abad, María's mom, lives in a double-wide trailer casita that sits on a quarter-acre rural lot that she has since María was two. What's that now? 18 years since María's dad did la putada? Well, at least he give her the land and the trailer as a farewell gift or how you say, partying gift."

The Fairytale of Solana's Real Books

Once Upon Another Time

"Solana looks out the shop window. Depressing. The street is deserted, abandoned. Soon Rio Plata will be your typical ghost town, and she'll be a lonely ghoul in her ghost bookstore, waiting for ghost customers to come in and look at "her real books."

Querida:

The Write Launch

"Maria Collins used to be so childish, such a baby. Oh yeah, she was going to change the world, take down the man, destroy the machine, let freedom bells ring and then tra-la-la happily ever… never. Such kiddie fantasies. Juvenile righteousness… Right. Juvenile stupidity is more like it. "

Aphasia of Unknown Etiology

Drunk Monkeys

"So Steve, Esteban, Tebi (what did the name matter?) he (although he felt more like an it, or some disembodied pronoun-less abstraction) wrote the words on a yellow paper. But they were the wrong words, so he erased them, with a thick pink eraser."

Bellows: Fables from the Musical Underground

Hmm Media

"This collection of surreal fables about the life of a song and the crazy, inspired, and damaged folks that chase it, is loaded with that grim humor and sense of purpose that are necessary traits for all artists moving toward the light. I can see it living in the guitar case of songwriters of all ages.” —Rick Miller, Southern Culture on the Skids

Reviews

Toast of London

One Perfect Episode, Drunk Monkeys

"O production illuminati, if you are out there, if you are one who makes sit-downs happen, if you are one who wears the pink Ralph Lauren shirts with the vicuña sweater tied around your neck and slide through SoCal clubs on vintage Top Siders making deals in between sips of Harvey Wallbangers (or Gibsons or whatever)."

Dune (2021)

It's Good, Actually, Drunk Monkeys

"This is a tough opinion to express because I know so many of you will want to fight me, but the new Dune 2021 movie: It's good, actually."

Phantasm II

It's Good, Actually, Drunk Monkeys

"What you bring to a movie viewing is just about as important as what the movie contributes. There are many reasons why movies are bad. Some are clearly unredeemable, but for some unliked movies all that is missing is a mental adjustment and voila, bad into good."

Day by Day

One Perfect Episode, Drunk Monkeys

"I can't believe I finally get to tell the world about this perfect episode of the forgotten show Day by Day."
